eBay Express ?

2005:
E-commerce giant eBay which also has a 25 percent ownership interest in Craiglist, an online local community forum, has taken Craiglist's concept i.e., free classifieds forum built around the community and launched Kijiji.com in almost 50 cities around the world that embodies this idea.

2006:
The e-commerce giant probably has plans to do something similar in U.S wherein sellers can post a product and buyers can buy it directly without having to bid on it unlike on eBay.com & the payment transaction would obviously be processed by eBay's PayPal.
The idea is that a seller "John" would post a product for sale with a price "$ X" and a buyer "Jane" who comes across that product can buy it directly from the seller by paying off the price. You see, there is no long bidding process here. You like..You pay & buy.
Either you can go to "John" to pick up the product or have the seller ship it for you.

This is likely to come out in the first quarter and likely to be called something on the lines of "eBay Express".

Wouldn't that be the "Buy Now" feature? I'd like to see Ebay workout something with craigslist though.

Hope you are having a great New Year.

Very interesting observation Oliver & yes, I think it very similar to "Buy it now" feature but with a "community" touch.

I'm trying to enjoy as well as keep my first day of New Year busy hoping that the rest of the year would be the same ;-).
