Gandhi no longer is smart and caused a division

Read what Steve Safran of Lost Remote has to say about Gandhi & other "Person of the Year" choices by TIME ..

"1931: Gandhi. Seemed smart at the time. But he caused division between different religions which led to several bloody wars, and the nuclear-any-second-now chaos between Pakistan and India. Instead, let’s go with "The American People," as this was the year we adopted the nearly un-singable “Star Spangled Banner” as our national anthem."

ah! the freedom of speech.

more..

edit: The article is not meant to degrade any of the therein mentioned personalities but is to point out TIME's current stance in selecting the "Person of the year".
Gandhi no longer is smart and caused a division - Wednesday, December 21, 2005 -

If you read the full article, you will understand the context was satirical. Of course Gahndi was a genius. What I was trying to point out was that the politically correct stance of TIME magazine in choosing its "Man of the Year" is such now that they would have revised history and blamed him for the bad stuff that followed long after his life of peace.

It was just that the statement "But he caused division between different religions which led to several bloody wars..." seemed more of your current opinion about Gandhi ;-)
Appreciate your clarification Steve.
